About this event
Classes at the 1909 Culinary Academy combine a hands-on cooking experience with delicious tasting experiences.

In this culinary event, we'll be making butter from scratch, using fresh, Ontario cream. With a little time and patience, we'll make a pound of butter to use in a few of our favourite recipes.

Compound Butter is simply a butter mixed with herbs, spice blends, and other ingredients that give it a savory or sweet flavor. The options are limitless and can be used to enhance steaks, chicken, fish, breads and vegetables. We'll make 5 compound butter variations to enjoy together (and take home to enjoy again later).

Sage Brown Butter does especially well when paired with earthy mushrooms and a simple pasta.

Of course, our evening wouldn't be complete without a batch of freshly baked Shortbread Cookies. They'll be buttery and sweet!

Once our dishes are ready, we'll sit down together to enjoy what we have created.

Sometimes we have leftovers. Please bring your own reusable containers and water bottle to help us reduce the use of single use plastics.
