Meet the Bees

Head to the Farm to Meet the Bees

Thames River Melons is a family owned and operated fruit and vegetable farm located in Oxford. With the help of friends, neighbours, AND honeybees, they grow, harvest, and sell a wide variety of produce. They welcome visitors on-farm for u-pick, to shop the farm market and bakery, to eat the harvest at the Farm Food Truck and for unforgettable bookable experiences like Harvest Brunch and Meet the Bees.

This NEW Meet the Bees Experience is all about how Thames River Melons relies on honeybees to pollinate nearly everything on the farm, from strawberries in summer to pumpkins in fall. Hear about this family farm and how bees play a starring role, guided by Nathan, the beekeeper.

Gear up and bring out your inner beekeeper before setting out toward your new friends - the bees. Thames River Melons will provide beekeeping suits, veils, and gloves for you to wear. Follow beekeeper, Nathan, to the hives, where you’ll use all your senses to learn about beekeeping practices and bee biology. Every experience is unique with beekeeping activities varying depending on weather and season.
